আমি এভাবে যদি বলি বেগম খালেদা জিয়ার ১৪ সালে নির্বাচনে যান নি। তার উপর যথেষ্ট চাপ ছিল অনেকে বলেন তিনি ১৪ সালের নির্বাচনে অংশগ্রহণ করলে ভালো হতো। কারণ এর আগে সিটি কর্পোরেশন নির্বাচন গুলো ফেয়ার হয়েছিল এবং আওয়ামী লীগ বিএনপির কাছে হেরে গিয়েছিল। এবং অনেকে বলছো শেখ হাসিনা ম্যানেজ মিনিস্ট্রি দিতে চেয়েছিল এবং সেগুলো হলে বিএনপি জিতে যেত। আমি এই কথাটার সাথে একেবারেই একমত নয়। মূলত বিষয়টা হচ্ছে সিটি কর্পোরেশনের নির্বাচনগুলো আওয়ামী লীগ ফেয়ারভাবে দিয়ে মাটের মূল পরিস্থিতি কি সেটা বোঝার চেষ্টা করেছে। তারপর তারা জাতীয় নির্বাচনে সেই শিক্ষা গ্রহণ করবে সিটি কর্পোরেশনের নির্বাচন থেকে শিক্ষা গ্রহণ করবো আর কি। আমি মনে করি সিটি কর্পোরেশনের ফেয়ার নির্বাচন দিয়ে সরকার দুটো জিনিস বুঝতে চাইছে নাম্বার হলো ১ম হল এই নির্বাচনের মাধ্যমে সরকার মূল পরিস্থিতি কি সেটা বোঝার চেষ্টা করেছে। দ্বিতীয় হল এটার মাধ্যমে বিএনপিকে নির্বাচন চেষ্টা করেছে
