Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim
Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barkatuhu.
Dear friends, I hope you are all well and healthy by the great mercy and grace of Allah. I am also well and healthy by your prayers and the endless mercy of Allah Almighty.
What can be the consequences of those who take away the rights of their sisters?
Islam is a religion of justice, fairness and protecting kinship ties. Allah Almighty has determined certain rights for every person. One of those rights is the right to inherited property. In many societies, it is seen that sisters are deprived of their rightful share of property. Sometimes they are taken away by force, sometimes through social pressure, and sometimes by deception. This is not only a social injustice, but also a major sin and oppression in the eyes of Islam.
Allah Almighty has clearly determined the rules for the distribution of inheritance in the Holy Quran. In Surah An-Nisa, He has determined the share of each heir. Therefore, no one can reduce or completely deprive a sister of her share as he wishes. No one has the right to change the decree of Allah.
Swallowing a sister's right is basically a combination of two major crimes. First, it is unjustly embezzling someone else's wealth. Second, it is disobeying the decree of Allah. Allah Almighty says in the Quran, "Do not devour one another's wealth unjustly." This instruction applies not only to theft or robbery, but also to embezzling inheritance.
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gave great importance to fulfilling people's rights. He warned that whoever oppresses another will have to give an account of that oppression on the Day of Judgment. If he has any good deeds, they will be given to the oppressed. And when the good deeds are over, the sins of the oppressed will be imposed on him. Therefore, the person who swallows his sister's right may face a very severe judgment in the Hereafter. Finally, it can be said that swallowing his sister's right is a very serious injustice and sin. This is tantamount to destroying human rights, destroying kinship ties, and disobeying the decrees of Allah. Therefore, every Muslim should follow the provisions of the Quran and Sunnah in the distribution of inheritance, not destroying anyone's rights, and especially giving the sisters their fair share properly. Only then can one hope for peace in the family, justice in society, and the mercy of Allah in the Hereafter.
